Two days from Turkler to the cotton castle

Pamukkale is a long drive from the coast, so the tour takes two relaxed days. We usually pick you up in Turkler around 05:30 on the first day and confirm the exact time after booking. The bus crosses the Taurus Mountains with a breakfast stop in Korkuteli and a photo stop at Salda Lake, famous for its turquoise water and white shores – often called the Maldives of Turkey.

In the afternoon you walk barefoot across the travertine terraces of Pamukkale, formed over thousands of years as calcium-rich thermal water cooled and left limestone behind. Above them lie the ruins of Hierapolis, a Roman spa city with a grand theatre and one of the largest necropolises in Anatolia – together a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you like, you can swim among ancient columns in the Antique Pool, also called Cleopatra’s Pool (extra charge). In the evening you check into a thermal hotel for dinner and a relaxing soak. After breakfast on day two you visit the iron-rich Red Water springs of Karahayıt, a village mosque and a carpet workshop, then head back to the coast with a lunch stop, arriving in Turkler in the late afternoon.
