Clear, warm water, rocky reefs and curious fish: scuba diving in Alanya is a perfect introduction to the underwater world – and a relaxed day out for certified divers, too. You spend the day on a dive boat along the coast around the castle peninsula, with experienced instructors, all the equipment you need and lunch on board.

First time diving? No problem

No certificate is needed for an introductory dive. After a theory and safety briefing on board, your instructor shows you how to breathe through the regulator, equalise your ears and move underwater. You start in shallow water and then explore the reef together with your instructor at all times. Many guests are surprised how quickly the feeling of weightlessness turns into pure enjoyment.

Certified divers

If you already hold a diving certificate, bring your card or logbook. You dive in a small group with a dive guide at depths that match your level, exploring rock formations, small caves and arches where groupers, octopus, moray eels and colourful wrasse live – and with a little luck a sea turtle passes by.

A day on the boat

Between the dives there is lunch on board and time to swim, snorkel or simply relax on deck. Non-diving partners and children are welcome on the boat at a reduced price, so the whole family can share the day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I scuba dive in Alanya without experience?

Yes. Beginners do an introductory dive with an instructor after a briefing on board. No certificate is required, but you should be in good health and comfortable in the water.

How deep do beginners dive?

Introductory dives stay in shallow water, usually a few metres deep, and your instructor stays with you the whole time. Certified divers dive deeper according to their certification.

Can non-divers come along?

Yes, partners and children can join the boat at a reduced price and swim or snorkel while the others dive.

When is the best time to dive in Alanya?

The season runs from about May to October. Water temperatures are highest from July to September, and visibility is usually very good.
