From Konakli to the boat
The fishing boat leaves from the harbour in Turkler, a short drive west of Konakli. The minibus collects you in the morning – we confirm the exact time after booking – and a few minutes after you step on board the boat is already heading for open water.
Using the fish finder, the captain chooses the spots where the fish are biting that day. Rods, bait and tackle are on board, the crew shows beginners how to cast and set the hook, and nobody needs a licence. You fish for around two and a half hours, then the boat anchors in Fuğla Bay for a swim in clear water. Lunch is grilled fish or chicken with salad and rice, and soft drinks and water are included. After a last round of fishing and some time to relax on deck, the boat returns and you are back at your hotel in the early afternoon – with your catch, if you want to keep it.
Tips for a good catch
- Mornings at sea can be breezy: bring a light layer as well as a hat and sunscreen.
- Take medication before you leave if you get seasick easily.
- Mostly small and medium-sized Mediterranean fish bite here – big fish are rare.
- There is a toilet and a shower on board; alcoholic drinks are not included.
