From Konakli into the mountains
The Green Canyon is a long, winding reservoir behind the Oymapınar Dam, north of Manavgat. Because the minibus starts at the Alanya end of the coast, Konakli guests are picked up early – we confirm the exact time after booking – before the bus continues west past Turkler and Okurcalar and climbs the mountain road. Including the other pickups, the drive takes about an hour and three quarters, with a photo stop above the dam on arrival.
From the dam harbour the boat glides deep into the canyon for about four hours. The slopes rise steeply on both sides, the water shifts between turquoise and emerald, and the captain stops in quiet coves so you can swim in the cool lake. Rods and tackle are on board for anyone who wants to try fishing. Lunch – grilled fish or chicken, meatballs, salads and rice or pasta – is served at a restaurant overlooking the water, and soft drinks on the boat are included. In the afternoon the boat sails back through the narrowest passages before you return to Konakli.
