Early start from Konakli
Köprülü Canyon lies in the Taurus Mountains north of Manavgat. Because Konakli is at the Alanya end of the coast, it is one of the first stops: the minibus then continues west to collect guests in Turkler, Avsallar and Okurcalar before turning inland. At the base everyone gets a helmet, a life jacket and a paddle, and the skipper explains the commands before the rafts are launched. The route of roughly 14 km is paddled in sections: through the rapids the whole team works together, while the calm stretches are perfect for jumping in and floating with the current. You pass the old Roman bridge that gave the canyon its name, and lunch – chicken, rice and salad – is served at a restaurant by the river. After the last rapids you change into dry clothes and can watch the photos and videos of your crew.
