Aspendos, Side & Manavgat Waterfall Day Tour from Turkler

From Turkler west along the coast

We usually pick you up in Turkler around 09:00 – the exact time is confirmed after booking. Turkler lies on the coast road towards Side and Antalya, so the drive west is a comfortable one in an air-conditioned vehicle, with a guide who introduces the history of the region on the way.

The first stop is Aspendos, whose theatre from the 2nd century AD is one of the best-preserved of antiquity: the stage building still stands to its full height, and the acoustics are so good that a coin dropped on the stage can be heard in the top rows – concerts, opera and ballet are still performed here. In the ancient port city of Side you walk past the monumental gate, the agora and the great theatre to the Temple of Apollo on the shore, followed by free time in the lanes of the old town and at the harbour. An open-buffet lunch is served at a restaurant by the Manavgat River, and the last stop is the Manavgat Waterfall, where the river rushes over a wide rock step in a green park with tea gardens.

Tips if you stay in Turkler

• You walk for one to two hours, partly on uneven ancient paving – wear comfortable shoes.
• A hat, sunscreen and water are a good idea at the ancient sites.
• Drinks are not included – bring some cash, also for the shops in Side.
• Children under 3 travel free on a parent’s lap; a seat is not guaranteed.
