We confirm your exact pickup time after booking. From Avsallar the coast road reaches Manavgat in well under an hour; there the jeeps turn off towards the Oymapınar dam, and the asphalt soon gives way to gravel tracks through pine forest.
The off-road part is as much about the scenery as the bumps. A first stop is made at the stone arches of the Roman aqueduct that once brought water from the Manavgat river to ancient Side, and later a hilltop gives you the canyon and the sea in one view; a small zoo on the way is optional and paid separately. Expect a water fight or two between the jeeps. Around midday the convoy reaches the lake: the Green Canyon is the reservoir of the Oymapınar dam, and its colour is usually put down to the minerals in the water of the Manavgat. The boat cruises for about an hour between steep, wooded walls and stops for roughly 30 minutes so you can swim – life jackets are on board for non-swimmers. After lunch at a lakeside restaurant, a second off-road stretch leads back to the coast road and on to Avsallar.
