Side – an ancient port by the sea

Side was founded in the 7th century BC and became one of the richest ports of ancient Pamphylia. Today the ruins and the modern resort blend into one another: you walk along the colonnaded street, past the agora and the great Roman theatre, to the Temple of Apollo, whose columns stand right on the shore and glow at sunset. Discover the town with a guide on the Side and Hidden Paradise waterfall tour.

Manavgat – river, waterfall and bazaar

The Manavgat River flows from the Taurus Mountains through the town and into the sea. On the Manavgat river boat trip you cruise down to the river mouth, where fresh water and sea meet, and visit the wide Manavgat Waterfall. The big Manavgat bazaar on Mondays and Thursdays is a colourful experience in itself.

Day trips from Side

The Roman theatre of Aspendos lies less than an hour from Side – see it together with Side and the waterfall on the Aspendos, Side and Manavgat tour. In the mountains behind Manavgat await the emerald Green Canyon, Turkey’s largest underground lake on the Altınbeşik Cave and Ormana tour and the lions of the Zoo and Lion Park.
